A MAJOR coffee chain with 2,000 stores nationwide has shut up shop at one of its branches.<\/p>\n

Costa Coffee in Newport, Wales has pulled the plug on operations without giving a reason for the closure.<\/p>\n

The Commercial Street branch have confirmed that "all team members have been redeployed to their nearby stores".<\/p>\n

All produce has been removed from inside the store.<\/p>\n

A Costa Coffee spokesperson said:\u00a0\u201cWe can confirm that the Costa Coffee store on Commercial Street in Newport has closed its doors for trade. <\/p>\n

"All team members have been redeployed to our nearby stores. Customers can continue to enjoy their favourite Costa coffee at our Drive Thru store on Usk Way in Newport."<\/p>\n

The popular chain has already\u00a0shut the doors of some sites\u00a0in recent months.<\/p>\n

Costa says it regularly reviews its store estate across the UK to ensure it's right for its communities and teams.<\/p>\n

This can include the closing or renovation of existing stores, or the opening of new stores.<\/p>\n

So far this year it has\u00a0closed seven sites in total, with another pulling down the shutters for the last time on September 22.<\/p>\n

Which Costa Coffee shops have closed?<\/h2>\n

The following sites have already closed this year, although a couple will be returning to their local areas.<\/p>\n

One of the chain's shops closed in July but has since reopened further down the road.<\/p>\n

Another cafe in Lowestoft closed its doors on July 23 but not forever.<\/p>\n

The chain is treating the shop to a whole\u00a0new look\u00a0and it will be reopening later this year.<\/p>\n

It will have a new interior and a whole new drive-thru lane added to it.<\/p>\n
