Faye Winter has made 2023 a year of self-growth as she has been focusing on herself and getting back to her roots, following her February split from her boyfriend of two years Teddy Soares.

And while the 28-year-old Love Island star is feeling like 'the best version' of herself, she still isn't rushing to throw herself back into the dating pool.

Talking exclusively to OK! this week, she shared: "I’m so happy with where I am in life at the moment, I’m not going to force the dating side of things, I don’t need to and I’m in no rush.

"We always put a sell-by date on ourselves, like: ‘We should be married by X age and having kids by Y age’. I said that I only date when I’m the best version of myself, which I feel like I am now, so now I’ll only date someone when I feel they will add value to my life. Rather than doing it because I need reassurance or to prove something."

She added: "I like the fact that, this year, I’ve been able to prove who I am. Not everyone knows me as Faye who is in a relationship, I’m just Faye."

Over recent months, Faye has been snapped with a number of male celebs – including fellow Love Islander Sammy Root and TOWIE bachelor Pete Wicks – with many making romantic links. But after confirming these are firm friendships, Faye admits she 'has to laugh' at romance allegations.

She laughed: "All the people I have been linked to are lovely people, so I’m not bothered, we do laugh about it – we have to laugh about it.

"When I’m dating and when I’ve found the one, I’ll be the first one to tell people. But, for now, I’m happy by myself. Other people want me to date more than I want me to date."

Alongside taking time out for herself, Faye is also busy being a dog mum to golden retriever Bonnie, and is also using her love of dogs to work with Guide Dogs UK.

Sharing how much of an impact dogs have had on her, she told us: "Dogs are put on this earth to show you what love is, you can always be told that you’re loved, but they show you what love is without expecting anything back."

Faye began working with Guide Dogs before going on Love Island, and continues to support the charity since leaving the villa, often volunteering and raising money.
