Kandi Burruss<\/strong> is coming to Justin Timberlake<\/strong>\u2019s defense.<\/p>\n

As Perezcious readers know, Britney Spears<\/strong> put the *NSYNC<\/strong> alum on BLAST for speaking in a ‘blaccent’ in her memoir, The Woman in Me<\/em>. She actually came for the whole crew, writing:<\/p>\n

\u201cNSYNC hung out with Black artists. Sometimes, I thought they tried too hard to fit in.\u201d<\/p>\n

She recalled one cringey moment in particular when she and JT met Pony\u00a0<\/em>singer\u00a0Ginuwine<\/strong> in NYC:<\/p>\n

\u201cWalking our way was a guy wearing a huge blinged-out medallion. He was flanked by two giant security guards. J got all excited and said so loud, \u2018Oh yeah. Fo\u2019 shiz. Fo\u2019 shiz. Ginuwine! What\u2019s up homie?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Yeah…<\/p>\n

But it sounds like not everyone is ready to cancel the guy for it?! While appearing at BravoCon<\/strong> over the weekend, RHOA<\/em> star Kandi Burruss, who co-wrote *NSYNC\u2019s 2000 hit song It Makes Me Ill<\/em>, came to Justin\u2019s defense. She told Page Six<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want anybody to, like, down Justin because you\u2019ve got to remember the times that we were going through at the time. That era of pop and R&B, it was a lot of boy bands that did, like, urban music, urban routines and dancing, the whole image. That was in at the time, and nobody was passing judgment.\u201d<\/p>\n

The TV personality added that lots of \u201cpeople are getting canceled\u201d now for things that weren\u2019t \u201ca problem\u201d years ago, and it sounds like she doesn\u2019t want the SexyBack<\/em> singer to become the latest. She said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI just feel like that was young Justin. Leave him alone, y\u2019all. He was a really, really good guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Interesting take!! Kandi shared that she hasn\u2019t read Brit\u2019s memoir yet, but does plan on listening to the audio version — and that she’s heard the part about JT meeting Ginuwine, which she thought \u201cwas funny.\u201d Watch (below):<\/p>\n
