<\/p>\nMILLIONS on Universal Credit and other benefits will shortly be receiving a Christmas bonus directly into their bank accounts.<\/p>\n
The tax-free \u00a310\u00a0payment\u00a0will be made to eligible households during the first full week of December, according to the DWP.<\/p>\n

If you're entitled to the payment you don't have to apply as it will be transferred automatically.<\/p>\n
And as the \u00a310 is a bonus, it won't need to be repaid either, nor will it affect any other\u00a0benefits\u00a0you receive.<\/p>\n
But if you are in line for the \u00a310 boost there's a code you should look out for in your\u00a0bank\u00a0statement – "DWP\u00a0XB".<\/p>\n
That's because the payment is being made by the Department for Work and Pensions.<\/p>\n
So if you see a \u00a310 payment in your bank account accompanied by this code you know it's the\u00a0Christmas\u00a0bonus.<\/p>\n To qualify for the payment you must be present or ordinarily resident in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar during the first full week of December between the 4 and 10.<\/p>\n Households will also need to claim at least one of the 20 qualifying benefits within the same period.<\/p>\n The bonus isn\u2019t available to those who receive Universal Credit only but someone on Universal Credit who also receives one of the qualifying benefits will receive it.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n To claim your part of the\u00a0Christmas\u00a0cash, check if you are a part of one of DWP's benefits:<\/p>\n If you think that you qualify but didn't receive the payment automatically, contact your local Jobcentre Plus or Pension Centre.<\/p>\n It comes as millions of households on Universal Credit could get thousands in extra cash –\u00a0here's how.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Warm Home Discount\u00a0is a \u00a3150 discount off\u00a0energy\u00a0bills, and payments usually begin in October.<\/p>\n You get the payment automatically if your\u00a0electricity supplier\u00a0is part of the scheme and you qualify.<\/p>\n Anyone born on or before September 25, 1957,\u00a0could get an up to \u00a3600 payment this winter\u00a0via a Winter Fuel payment.<\/p>\n Most people who are eligible get it automatically like if you receive\u00a0state pension.<\/p>\n Meanwhile,\u00a0thousands on a low income are still missing out on Pension Credit, which could be worth \u00a33,500 a year.<\/p>\n It's worth seeing if you can make a claim – all the information about how to and who is eligible is on the Government's website.<\/p>\n As a minimum, you must live in\u00a0England,\u00a0Scotland\u00a0or\u00a0Wales\u00a0and have reached state pension age.<\/p>\n Pension Credit is known as a gateway benefit as well, meaning it opens up a raft of freebies.<\/p>\n For example, if you're over 75 you might be able to apply for a free TV licence, worth \u00a3159 a year.<\/p>\n Here are all the\u00a0perks you could get from the benefit.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/KS-COMP-AMAZON-DEALS-NOV23V2.jpg\")
