Molly Rainford has revealed what she thinks is going on between Ellie Leach and her Strictly dance partner Vito Coppola – the focus of swirling romance rumours.

The EastEnders star reached the final of the BBC dancing show last year, with her dance partner Carlos Gu. She is now dating her fellow Strictly contestant and radio presenter Tyler West.

Mollie, 23, admits Corrie star Ellie and show pro Vito have a "lovely" friendship but won't have any time to date during their time on the show. The singer insists the Strictly routine is simply too jam-packed for any romance.

Asked if they're dating, she told Daily Star: "I'm gonna go with no. Honestly, I don't think there's any time to be dating on that show.

She went on: There's too much stuff to learn and stuff to do. I saw that the press were saying that Vito's calling her 'baby' but I feel like that is the first word Vito learned in English! Vito calls everyone baby.

"They obviously have a lovely friendship and I feel like they dance beautifully together. It's always a nice thought. Especially when they're doing like a really slow and romantic dance, but everyone's very good storyteller's on that show I think."

Asked if there's any thing fans don't get to see when they're watching the live shows at home, Molly said: "I don't know if this is unique to Strictly but they have a warm-up guy for the audience. He tells a lot of jokes and wears a lot of sparkly blazers.

"[It's] Just to keep everyone entertained while they're waiting for us to get ready to go live, which is quite cool, and the song that they always play before is Sweet Caroline to get everyone singing."

She admits she's not managed to remember all of the moves she picked up during her Strictly stint. But she's watching this series and can't help having a boogie when she sees a routine.

"I feel like the techniques have definitely gone out the window a bit but as it's been on, it does inspire you," she said." When a rumba comes on, I definitely start doing some of the moves I learnt from Carlos for sure."

"I really like the idea of talking to girls about something that literally every woman in the world goes through. I feel like when I was younger, people didn't really talk about their periods, anything like that, enough. It's just really important to me to dive into the conversation and get rid of the idea that it's such a taboo and uncomfortable subject because it's so natural. It just shows that your body as a woman is healthy."

Molly spoke to Daily Star on behalf of the Always About You programme which aims to curb stigma surrounding periods and puberty. The curriculum-focused programme is available on the Always website and provides teachers with digital resources, free products, and lesson guides to support them in the classroom.

She attended the 'Always Period Prep School’ event at Lilian Baylis School in London on 21st November 2023. The event focused on educating and preparing girls about their cycle, is one of many activities that Always is doing to ensure that the content of their school’s programme remains relevant, topical and engaging for young girls across the country.
