<\/p>\nLITTLE Aiya Steers-Mumtaz was just three and living with cancer when Father Christmas arrived to give her a present in hospital \u2013 and it is a day she will never forget.<\/p>\n
She is one of hundreds of children nationwide who has received gifts thanks to donations from YOU, our loyal army of readers.<\/p>\n
\n<\/p>\n
And today we are asking for your help once again, by buying the Christmas cards designed by readers\u2019 children so we can deliver more presents to kids staying in hospital this festive season.<\/p>\n
As part of our Christmas Cards for Kids campaign \u2014 run in partnership with Children With Cancer UK \u2014 you can find them on sale in store at The Entertainer and at the website thetoyshop.com.<\/p>\n
Aiya, now eight, was receiving treatment at Birmingham Children\u2019s Hospital when Santa brought her a gift \u2014 and she threw her arms around his neck.<\/p>\n
Her mum, Amira Steers, 42, said: \u201cIt is amazing for the children but also great for the parents. <\/p>\n
"Aiya was so poorly I didn\u2019t go shopping. <\/p>\n "All I wanted to do was be by her side.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen The Sun on Sunday organised presents it was amazing.<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t know if this Christmas will be their last.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThen Santa came along and Aiya\u2019s little face lit up. <\/p>\n "She was pulling at his beard. <\/p>\n "That is a moment neither of us will ever forget. <\/p>\n "I urge your readers to buy The Sun on Sunday\u2019s cards to donate to this appeal. <\/p>\n "This gift was priceless.\u201d<\/p>\n Aiya was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in January 2017. <\/p>\n She has now been in remission for four years and is well enough to attend school.<\/p>\n Amira, from Birmingham, also mum to Zain, 13, said: \u201cWhen people who know how poorly she was see her now they can\u2019t believe it. <\/p>\n "We now cherish every moment and every Christmas because these moments are precious.\u201d<\/p>\n Strictly star Shirley Ballas has backed our campaign.<\/p>\n She said: \u201cI would like to visit those children in hospital. <\/p>\n "Encouraging children to draw these cards then selling them is a fantastic idea to raise money and I hope lots get sold.\u201d<\/p>\n McFly pop star Tom Fletcher, 38, also supported us.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/newspress-collage-n1esa3iak-1702123227991.jpg\")
