<\/p>\nVictorious Festival raised the bar for itself in 2023 with Kasabian and Mumford and Sons in particular putting on incredible post-sunset shows.<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, the seaside music festival that transforms Portsmouth's Southsea Common each August bank holiday weekend, announced an exhaustive list of all artists revellers can expect in 2024.<\/p>\n
While many remain on the fence as to whether Fatboy Slim, Jamie T, Biffy Clyro and Jess Glynne match the excitement generated by their predecessors, I for one am in the "can it be August already camp?".<\/p>\n

Appealing to the opposite end of the festival demographic will be One Direction star Louis Tomlinson and keeping with Victorious' general indie throwback vibe are Snow Patrol, Pigeon Detectives, Courteeners.<\/p>\n

Having seen Courteeners live in as recently as September at NME and Ladbrokes' joint party, I'm excited to see them take that energy from an intimate underground venue, to an open air evening in front of thousands.<\/p>\n
Things are already looking good in the comedy tent too with Russell Howard and Frankie Boyle penned in.<\/p>\n
Facebook user Pip Pip went as far as saying: "For me, this is one of the best line-ups Victorious have ever had."<\/p>\n
"I don't think I'll ever get over how great this line up is," another quipped.<\/p>\n
Ben Bracegirdle replied to the announcement with somewhat less enthusiasm for the line up and with fingers crossed for one or two more big names to grace the main stages.<\/p>\n

He commented: "I\u2019m over it. Missing true headliners on Sat and Sun imo, I\u2019m sure it\u2019ll still be cracking. Kinda hoping u have something else up ya sleeve."<\/p>\n
Jim Stevens was quick to chip in: "They\u2019ve only announced a third of the acts so far Ben\u2026they do this every year\u2026another replied."<\/p>\n
Ben went on to admit that being a "child of the 80s" the likes of Biffy Clyro but judging by Facebook reaction, he's not alone in crying out for more throwback additions.<\/p>\n

"Loaded with modern acts which is great. But need more 80s & 90s acts imo," Marcus Lloyd Cowles commented.<\/p>\n
"Agree more 80s & 90s please," was another request to Victorious bosses.<\/p>\n
If you want to know where I'll be on August 24, it'll be bopping with an overpriced pint in hand to the one and only Jamie T, as a chilly sea breeze sweeps when the sun goes down on the south coast. <\/p>\n
Yes it WILL be sunny…<\/p>\n
