Last week, I made the lead link in the afternoon links post \u201cCardi B & Offset unfollowed each other on Instagram, are they splitting?\u201d<\/em> The reason I haven\u2019t devoted a stand-alone post to any of this Cardi-Offset drama is that longtime Cardi fans have been here many times before. At least once a year, Cardi and Offset have a fight or she catches him cheating or she just gets tired of looking at him and they\u2019re \u201cover.\u201d They stay broken up for a week or two and then they get back together. Well, we\u2019re in another cycle. I\u2019ve seen it all before – they\u2019ll be back together by Christmas, but here\u2019s the latest:<\/p>\n Cardi B has confirmed her single status in the wake of rumors about her relationship with Offset. The rapper, 31, got candid on Instagram Live over the weekend as she admitted, \u201cI\u2019ve been single for a minute now,\u201d according to a recording of the livestream shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cBut I have been afraid\u2026 Not afraid, I just don\u2019t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been, like, a sign.\u201d<\/p>\n Cardi B said she wants to start the new year \u201cfresh\u201d and \u201copen,\u201d as she admitted, \u201cI\u2019m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah\u2026 I\u2019m excited.\u201d<\/p>\n The relationship status update comes after the couple both attended the same event on Sunday night \u2014 TikTok In the Mix music festival in Mesa, Arizona \u2014 but were not photographed together. Representatives for the two rappers did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n [From People]<\/p>\n Cardi also said that she wants to \u201cdrop the dead weight\u201d for the new year. Sure. She says all kinds of sh-t during their breakups. Once, she even filed for divorce. She still went back to him. She always does. Now, this is me preparing myself for it, it\u2019s not wishful thinking on my part. I would love nothing more than seeing Cardi really and truly break up with Offset and for the split to stick. What happens is that Offset always finds a way to worm his way back, and he\u2019s not above using her friends and family to work on his behalf.
