I love using random stuff to make cute home décor – I turned £24 pool noodles into a posh £380 stool for my living room | The Sun
A SAVVY DIY enthusiast has revealed how she turned a set of swimming noodles into a chic stool that's similar to a design that would set you back by a staggering £380.
Buying new homeware can be pricey – but as proved by one craft lover, Annika Hinds, you can slash the costs by snapping up random items and using some creativity.
The DIY whizz, believed to be from the US, took to TikTok to reveal some of her favourite projects, including a homemade look-alike for a posh living room stool.
''I see everything as home décor,'' Annika chuckled, before walking through her TikTok fans just some of the items she's made so far.
Perhaps one of her most favourite – and viral – projects included a tool she had made using nothing but pool noodles that cost her a little over £20.
In fact, the results were so good, that fellow craft lovers preferred her stool more than the posh £380 version she had attempted to recreate.

The idea sprung to mind when Annika had visited her favourite furniture store and ''fell in love'' with a soft velvet bench – but the hefty price tag put her off.
The swimming noodles, as well as some wooden planks, had been snapped up from Dollar Tree, saving the craft fanatic more than £350 in the process.
Annika, who's won more than 1.8million followers on her TikTok page, also uses kitchen napkin holder for a slightly different purpose.
Instead of putting it on a table, the home interior whizz has decided to place on the wall, using it as a holder for her vinyl record collection.

You can bag these form most stores, as well as online, where Amazon offers a wide array of designs – and prices start from as little as £5.

Rather than forking out for a new one – which would've set her back by a whopping £420 – Annika decided to recreate the designer version.
As well as snapping up some sherpa blanket, the crafty woman used two round wooden planks (one of them being smaller) and an insulation board.
The rest involved some cutting and nailing, and voila – she had just saved herself a fortune, the video showed.
Other more simple projects included using a wooden box, as well as a massive Lego box as unique shelves on the wall – and her cat seems to be rather fond of them too, constantly chilling inside.
Needless to say, the crafty and fun homeware items have found many fans across social media, with many now inspired to get creative too.
One said: ''Oh no, what have you done! I clicked on the search bar that says pool noodle headboard and now I absolutely HAVE TO make one!''
Another chimed in: ''That pool noodle bench is sooooo dang cute [sic].''
''I want to live in the creative part of your brain,'' someone else chuckled.
