‘Influencer’ receives backlash for telling fans ‘just book a flight to Thailand’
A travel blogger has been slammed for posting a clip of her lavish lifestyle while telling viewers to “book a flight to Thailand” amid the cost of living crisis.
Influencer Kat Crittenden sparked backlash after making several statements labeled “out of touch” by some of her 300,700 online followers.
The influencer, who is best known for her vast selection of travel content, made the “out of touch” comments in a clip captioned, “Me again, convincing you to travel, lol”.
The video, posted on August 17th, shows Crittenden grinning in a turquoise lagoon in Thailand while telling her followers to follow in her footsteps.
“This could be five o’clock on a Thursday night for your if you just book a freaking flight,” the TikToker exclaimed in her clip. “This should freaking sell you. Get your a** out here!”

“I don’t have rich parents,” one viewer quipped, attracting more than 38,400 likes from other TikTokers.
One person joked: “If you’re homeless, just buy a house,” while another commentator followed with “Being rich and out of touch seems so nice.”
A third person penned: “I’ll put living paycheck to paycheck on hold so I can do that. Thanks for the advice.”
The social media influencer is one of many who have fallen out of favor with young people in recent years, after flaunting their wealth online.

It comes as another British influencer recently infuriated her viewers after going on a “snobby” rant about supermarkets.
The rant was met with a flurry of disapproving comments from viewers who aggressively reminded the poster that we are in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis.
“I’m actually so confused about how someone can be so tone-deaf. The audacity and the lack of shame to be able to film this and post this.”
Olympia Anley deleted her account soon after copping heavy backlash from the post.
