"Be careful when you're juicing and when you're washing up. Have a good day"
Not long after, Shirley jumped back on social media to provide fans with another update.
This time she showed fans her thumb with a white bandage wrapped around it.
Wearing a tiny pair of shorts and a white sleeveless top with the words "live laugh move" written on the front of it, the head Strictly judge spoke directly to fans once again.
She said: "Morning so far, yoga, cleaning flowers, juicing, cutting up tumb, bandage up thumb that my mother decided she would fo for me so we'll have to sit.
"It's quite deep but let's see how this holds up. Be careful juicing!" She added.
The news of Shirley's injury comes after three celebrity Strictly stars have been hit with injuries ahead of the opening weekend.
A few days ago, Amanda Abbington shared images of blood blisters on her Instagram profile while former Love Island star Zara McDermott has also suffered a foot injury while rehearsing for the show.
Speaking about her blisters Amanda told fans: "Dancing in heels, when you absolutely aren’t a dancer, is clearly a blister minefield but, moreover, very much a young man’s game… however, onwards."
In addition to this, Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas confessed that he was "in pain" and "struggling" after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.
Talking openly about his condition, he said: "I'm not in the best shape of my life, but I could be worse.
"This year has been tough there’s no doubt about that… but I’ve just got to stay focused now! I’m still struggling and the pain is still there but I’m putting on a brave face I’ve got to stay strong."
