The UK's longest toboggan ride runs for 750 metres & has amazing views | The Sun

WINTER is just around the corner, which means plenty of Brits are looking for festive attractions to visit.

While toboggan rides are more commonly associated with winter destinations like Finland and Sweden, there are some tracks in the UK.

Kent is home to plenty of picturesque seaside towns like Margate, Whitstable, and Broadstairs, but there's one Medway town that's home to the longest toboggan ride of its type in the country.

Last year, the TikTok account UK Hidden Gems posted a video all about their time on the toboggan ride.

In the video, he said: "This is your sign to go on the longest tobogganing run in the UK."

As he went down the track, the TikTok user described the attraction as a "10/10" for fun.

The video has had thousands of views, with users jumping into the comments to share their opinions.

One person wrote: "This looks so cool for a good group of friends."

The toboggan ride is part of Chatham Snowsports Centre, and it costs £8.75 for two rides or £16.50 for five rides.

Children as young as four are allowed down the track, but they must be accompanied by an adult who is aged 16 and over.

Chatam Snowsports Centre is open from 10am to 6pm every day.

As well as being home to the longest tobogganing ride in the UK, there are several other activities in the centre too, including skiing and snowboarding sessions on the dry slopes.

Other activities include sno-tubing where guests can jump inside an inflatable rubber ring before going down the slope.

Sno-tubing sessions last for 20 minutes, and time slots should be booked in advance online.

Food and drink is also served at the Alpine Bar and Kitchen, and free parking is also available too.

Other nearby tourist attractions in Chatham include The Historic Dockyard in Chatham, Fort Amherst Heritage Trust, and Buckmore Park Kart Circuit.

As well as Chatham Snowsports Centre, there are several indoor ski slopes with real snow in the UK.

One of those places is Snozone in Milton Keynes, but there are others too, including the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, and the SnowDome in Tamworth.

Brit skiers can also get in some practice at dry slopes too, including Gosling Ski and Snowboard Centre in Welwyn Garden City, the Midland Ski Club in Solihull, and the Suffolk Ski Centre in Ipswich.

Meanwhile, Europe’s only rooftop skating rink is coming back to the UK this winter.

Tobacco Dock in London is home to Europe's only rooftop ice skating rink, which they have confirmed will be returning once again this year.
