UK Jewish schools ‘more secure than prison’ with 24/7 security and terror drills
Four of the UK's Jewish schools have been forced to close today (October 13), after Hamas terror leaders called for a “global Jihad” against Jews.
The worrying call has seen four London schools close – with many others around the country seeing heavily reduced attendances – as Jewish parents fear about the safety of their children. However, late last night, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak gave the Jewish community an extra £3million to help secure its school and community buildings.
The money is added to the £15million government grant given to the Community Security Trust every year, which is used to make Jewish schools more secure than most prisons.

If you have ever driven past one of the UK's many Jewish schools, you could perhaps be forgiven for not realising it was there, given that most of them have huge metal security fences, with ram-proof barriers at the front gates. They also all have 24/7 security guards at every entrance, while most of them are set very far back from the roads in which they are based.
Security cameras are in place covering every conceivable angle.

Staff, pupils and visitors of some of those in London have airport-style security at every entrance, with children as young as four taking part in several terror drills throughout the year, hiding under desks, in preparation should the worst happen. Many parents had, this week, called for armed security to be added – but that can't happen due to UK law.
However, most schools are now working hand-in-hand with local police forces, with many seen with police officers at the schools gates this morning. There are also volunteer parental security groups surrounding the perimetres of the sites, too.
The call for "Global Jihad" came earlier this week, and was made by the founding member of the group designated a terrorist organisation by the UK in 2021.

According to a translation from expert Rachid Hammami, Khalid Mashal said: “He asked all Muslims around the world to carry Jihad by their souls; to fight and be martyrs for Al-Aqsa. He wants Muslims to fight against the Jews, starting with Muslims who live in the countries surrounding Israel: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt, to go to the borders and try to enter, each by his own means."
Mashal also called for the Jihad to go from "theory" to being "applied on the ground", and asked the Mujahedeen "to go in long caravans to spell their blood on the land of Palestine".
UK's Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, said this week: “I have been clear with police chiefs in England and Wales that there can be zero tolerance for antisemitism, and that they should act immediately to crack down on any criminality – both in our streets and online.”
