England’s Lionesses beauty treatments from Alessia Russo’s manicures to Ella Toone’s lashes

The Lionesses' have proved that just because you're a professional footballer doesn't mean you can't be glam on the pitch, from elegant manicures to lengthy lashes.

The England women's national football team have made it to the final of theWomen's World Cup 2023 after beating co-hosts Australia on Wednesday, 16 August and they all looked stunning as they were doing so.

During their time Down Under, there's a team of Aussie beauticians and nail artists who have become close pals with the "down to Earth" squad, ensuring they look and feel their very best when competing for the World Cup trophy.

Kellie Sherack, 29, who owns Redhead Nails even named one polish the "Russo manicure" sharing that Lionesses Alessia loves her chrome gel nails.

To ensure they have a fresh manicure for every match, Kellie has been working around the clock to fit around the team's tight training schedule and has bonded with the team.

Kellie who hails from Wamberal, Australia told the Mirror: "I get on with them all so well because they are just so easy to talk to and down to earth. I’ve become close with Katie Zelem, she loves getting her nails done. We bonded over that, she’s such a lovely girl. I’ve told all the girls that if they ever come back here on holiday to text me."

Aside from getting their glam on at Kellie's home salon, the Lionesses' have also been enjoying watching medical dramas together and discussing reality TV shows such as Love Island.

And it's not just nails involved in the pamper sessions, a few miles away near the England HQ in Terrigal the girls have been having lash lifts and brow tints at Sensual ‘N’ Mystical Eyes.

Owner Sapna Verma, 45, told the Mirror: "I’ve had most of the team in, some staff members and even Sarina Wiegman who came for a lash lift with daughter Sacha.

"On the field, you can’t really wear makeup as it will melt off. I think if your brows and lashes are on fleek it gives you confidence in front of the camera."

As the final of the World Cup fast approaches Sapna said the squad will be missed: "People bring their children when they know the team is leaving the hotel to clap and wave. The players take pictures with the children. It’s beautiful to see. They are very humble."

One Lioness who is known for her trademark false lashes is Manchester United midfielder, Ella Toone who was gutted when they fell out in the lead-up to the Euro final at Wembley last year.

At the time the football star said: "I got my lashes done before the tournament and they fell out, then I was at the final with no lashes.

"It was a nightmare. I’m actually really gutted. My nails have come off, too" – the star will no doubt have got her lashes done ahead of the World Cup semi-final against Australia.
