Aldi shoppers rush to buy ‘amazing’ £6 perfume dupe of iconic scent but for £229 less than the real thing | The Sun

ALDI shoppers can't get enough of an "amazing" perfume dupe selling for £6 and £229 less than the real thing.

The Lacura Cardinal Red spray is on sale as a Specialbuy at the German discounter for £6.

Shoppers say it smells just like Baccara Rouge too, which Selfridges has in stock for £235 – £229 more expensive.

One shopper found the bargain dupe in their local Aldi, posting a photo of it on the Aldi Shoppers UK Facebook page.

They said: "This perfume is everything!

"It’s a dupe of the majorly expensive Baccarat Rouge! It smells amazing!"

Meanwhile, a third added: "I bought this. Smells amazing."

Anyone looking to snap up the dupe will have to head to their nearest store and see if there's any in stock.

Aldi used to sell Specialbuys online but closed the service in July this year, after launching it in 2015.

You can find your nearest Aldi store by using the branch locator tool on its website.

Of course, when it comes to buying the Lacura perfume dupe, you should always shop around as you might find it cheaper at other retailer's.

You can use websites such as Trolley, Price Spy and Price Runner to compare prices on thousands of products.

The Google Products tab is a quick way to scan the internet and see how much retailers are selling a certain product for too.

We had a quick look online and couldn't find any other retailers selling the Lacura perfume cheaper than £5.99 though.

The only platform we could see selling it is eBay and the cheapest option is £13.

It comes after a shopping expert revealed 14 ways to save money at Aldi.

Tom Church, co-founder of, said there's a whole host of ways you can cut back on costs.

This includes looking for red stickers, which indicate extra savings on products.

He also suggested looking out for the "Super 6" – when Aldi picks six fruits and vegetables and reduces them to a lower price.

Plus, it's worth signing up to the newsletter and following them on social media.

The retailer often announces upcoming deals on its Instagram stories, for example.

On top of this, you'll want to look out for Too Good to Go boxes – Aldi rolled the scheme out to all 990 of its branches in February this year.

Under it, shoppers can get £10 worth of fruit and veg for just £3.30.
