Animal welfare experts were left horrified after finding urine-soaked dogs in a faeces-filled UK home.
The dogs were crammed inside small crates by RSPCA inspectors at a property in Dorsett Road in Wednesbury, West Midlands, during a raid. One of the pooches was dead when investigators arrived and its body had been left in the corner of one of the cages.
RSPCA Inspector Vicki Taylor said she made the devastating find after a police probe. She said: "At the property there was a strong smell of faeces and urine as I walked through the front door.

"Inside the front room there was a small dog crate with a spaniel named Millie, with four young pups all covered in urine. There was faeces all over the crate which was wet with urine.
"There was no bedding and a dead pup in the corner of the crate.
"In the kitchen, which had faeces all over and was extremely dirty, there were two more crates on top of one another, which were also extremely dirty. In the top crate there was another dog, a black and white spaniel named Misty, in the crate with three young pups."

"They were all dirty and wet with faeces with urine," she added. "I was informed that she was not the mother to these pups, that all the pups belonged to the spaniel in the front room.
Three other spaniels, Tallulah, Lady and Rolo, were also being held in the crates. Ms Taylor found a total of five spaniels and six "spaniel-type pups" at the property.
"In the conservatory area, there was also excrement all over the floor and up the walls."
Following the investigation at his home, Carl Price pleaded guilty to two animal welfare offences at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.
The 49-year-old has now been slapped with a banning order and can no longer keep animals. He was also handed a 12-month community order with 15 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) days and must pay a £114 victim surcharge and £186 costs.
